Walter Brueggemann

Walter Brueggemann has written that the biblical text that has guided his life was inscribed by his father in his Bible at confirmation: “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). Following this calling, he has come to be widely regarded as one of the preeminent contemporary Bible scholars. After earning degrees at Eden Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary in New York City, he pursued a long and distinguished teaching career. He is the author of over sixty books.
