#Throwback: The Restoration of Trinity, 1990

Today, Trinity Church is a rosy pink-brown hue. But did you know that for most of the twentieth century Trinity Church was black? In 1920, the church was coated in paraffin in an attempt to protect the stone. Over time, soot and dust stuck to the paraffin, leaving the building exterior black. The paraffin was removed during a major restoration in the late 1980s and into 1990. This ten minute video details the restoration process of both the exterior and the interior of Trinity Church.
