Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Matthew A. Welsch: "Loving the World Back into Wholeness"

In Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus returns to his hometown of Nazareth after earning a reputation as a powerful preacher and healer. His old neighbors don’t buy it — they can’t imagine the son of God could come from their small town. But, as Father Matt points out in his sermon, “Following Jesus is to accept the unexpected truth that God chooses to show up among ordinary, under-qualified, imperfect, messy, complicated people just like you and me. And it’s through these unremarkable people that God plans to change the world.”
