Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Yein Kim, “Mary Made A Courageous Choice"

At today’s celebration of Saint Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, the Rev. Yeim Kim shared new ways of understanding Mary’s choice to be the Lord Bearer and the relationship between Mary and her son, Jesus. “It’s a celebration of faith and trust,” said Mother Yein, “Mary’s total faith and trust in our Lord and Savior, who was also her son and child.” 

While she was aware of the risks, “Mary made a courageous choice in affirming God’s plan,” and this changed the course of human history. Like Mary, we should remember and trust that our relationship with God can also change the world beyond our understanding and imagination.
