Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Yein Kim, "We Don't Get What We Deserve"

"Imagine, you help your mom clean the house, and at the end of the day, your brother, sister and you all get $20, even if you start at different times. Does that seem fair?" The Rev. Yein Kim translates today's Gospel reading, the Laborers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1–16), into a familiar scene for families at the 9am service.

Connecting the $20, or a day's wages, to God's grace and love, Mother Yein explains what really matters in this passage: God’s forgiveness. "What a blessing it is that God is not fair. God is gracious. God is better than fair. With God, we are all included. We are all God's children." Watch the sermon.
