Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Sr. Promise Atelon, SSM "God's Covenant Care, Then and Now"

“If we could see God’s presence in others, there would not be either war or destroying life.” The Rev. Sister Promise Atelon asks us to see the similarities between the oppression of the Israelites in Egypt and the oppression of African Americans in the United States. Sister Promise reminds us that God can always be found on the side of the oppressed and she challenges us to remember that how we approach issues of oppression does not depend on what somebody else says Jesus is for them, but on who Jesus is for us.
