Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Elizabeth Blunt: “Put Yourself in Jesus’s Shoes”

As we enter Holy Week, Mother Beth urged us to empathically imagine and inhabit the grief of Jesus. To see through his eyes on the road to the cross, to “consider all the human hurts he hallowed,” is to feel our own souls respond with a broader compassion for the suffering of others. “Put yourselves in Jesus’s shoes this week,” she told us. “Wonder. Grieve. Give thanks. And let the love of Christ change your mind.”
