Searching: Computers (1983)

July 23, 2015

Searching was a weekly half-hour documentary-style program produced by Trinity’s communications department and hosted by the Rev. Leonard Freeman. It focused on in-depth interviews and magazine-style documentaries using the church and secular resources available in the New York City area.

Programs included documentaries on "the 1981 visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury to New York; Runaways; the work of St. Paul’s Church in Darien, CT; FOCUS, Youth Fellowship with tennis star Stan Smith; and Christian psychologist Charles Carr discussing fear, depression, homosexuality, and the feminist movement.”

This throwback was produced in 1983 and explores the expanding role of computers at that time. This three-minute clip features the episode’s introduction.
