Remembering 9/11: A Prayer for Peace

The Rector of Trinity Church Wall Street, the Rev. Dr. William Lupfer, rang the Bell of Hope at St. Paul’s Chapel beginning at 8:46 am, the time when the first hijacked plane struck the north tower of the World Trade Center, initiating the 9/11 terrorist attacks sixteen years ago.

After ringing the Bell of Hope, which was a gift to the people of New York from the City of London, Dr. Lupfer led those who had gathered in reciting the prayer attributed to St. Francis of Assisi.
