Reflections from Standing Rock

December 9, 2016

On Sunday December 4, at the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced it had denied a permit to construct the Dakota Access Pipeline. Winnie Varghese, a priest of Trinity Church Wall Street, who had joined an earlier protest, happened to be back at Standing Rock when the permit was denied.
