Trinity Church Wall Street Provides $500,000 in Emergency Aid to Partners in Africa, South America, and the Caribbean
Funding Comprises Grants to 36 Dioceses and Organizations for Support During COVID-19 Crisis
NEW YORK, NY, June 15th – Trinity Church Wall Street announced today that it is providing $500,000 in emergency response grants to support Anglican dioceses and organizations in Africa, the Caribbean, and South America so that they can continue providing services to their communities during the global COVID-19 crisis.
The 36 grants announced today range from $5,000 to $15,000. The funds will be used to purchase a variety of items including masks, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, and food.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has hit all corners of the world, ,” said the Rev. Phillip A. Jackson, Priest-in-Charge and Vicar of Trinity Church Wall Street. “In some of the most vulnerable areas in Africa, South America, and the Caribbean, churches are struggling to meet people’s most basic needs. It’s our responsibility to help our brothers and sisters not just here in New York City, but those around the world who are harmed by the pandemic.”
Neill Coleman, Trinity’s Chief Philanthropy Officer, said, “With the global rates of COVID-19 growing, especially in Africa and the Americas, we know the urgency of providing funds that can help our partners respond to both the health and economic consequences of the virus.”
The diocese, provinces and institutions that received these emergency grants are all current grantees of Trinity Church Wall Street.

These grants are in addition to $2.425 million given in April to local nonprofits to help vulnerable New Yorkers during the pandemic.
