Family Service Sermon, The Rev. Elizabeth Blunt, "Watching for the Fruits of the Spirit"

"Pentecost is the birthday of the Church because it's the day when the Church received the Holy Spirit," said the Rev. Elizabeth Blunt at today's Family Service. While we no longer have visible flames on our heads to signify the Holy Spirit—and Mother Beth double checked, just to be sure—we can see the fruits of the Spirit in ourselves and in others.

"Have you ever been inspired to create something beautiful, or do something kind, or stand up for somebody, or tell the truth when it's hard to do, or tell someone you love them? Those kinds of good things are called fruits of the Spirit." Watch your family and friends this week to see when the light they always carry with them is shining brightly.
