Explore the many ways the Psalms have been translated into English in this online offering from the Trinity Retreat Center. As "the hymn-book of the early Church," the psalter is a diverse collection of ancient songs that lies at the heart of both Christian and Jewish worship and spiritual life. As poetry, the psalms form a special challenge for translators, opening up new ways of thinking about what the essence of a sacred text is.
