Set the tone for Lent during this online retreat focusing on the writings of Julian of Norwich, an ascetic from the Middle Ages who wrote Revelations of Divine Love, the earliest surviving book in English written by a woman.

Our discussions will focus on Dame Julian’s mystical insights, which challenge commonplace assumptions of theology and psychology and point to a new shape for life, relationships, and vocation. This quiet and nourishing retreat looks at Julian’s life and ours through the lens of the divine love mentioned in 1 John 4:16: “God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.” Revelations of Divine Love has rightfully been described as a profound and extended reflection on that verse. What would it mean to trust that love completely?

Led by Robert Owens Scott, Executive Director Emeritus of Faith Formation and Education at Trinity Church Wall Street.
