Trinity Movement Choir, a congregational arts group in the parish of Trinity Church Wall Street, is offering daily devotionals for the Church season of Advent, from Sunday, November 27 until Christmas Eve on Saturday, December 24.

Christmas Eve
The devotionals by Trinity Movement Choir members are daily dances, approximately one-minute in length, in the Japanese butoh style, as a way to meditate on the four traditional themes of Advent.
Marilyn Green, director of Trinity Movement Choir, explains the unique approach to the season of preparation for Christmas: “It was my idea. Last year when I was buying Advent Calendars for my friends and family, I remembered that there are musical ones, and I thought it would be wonderful to have a dance one.
“Thanks to our relationship with the International Sacred Dance Guild, the 28 dancers recorded their Advent dances from as far away as New Zealand, Hawaii, various parts of Canada, California, Ohio and more, in addition to the NYC area.
“I felt as though anyone with any belief system could celebrate the journey of Advent with us, through the four themes, all of which we need so much at this time. When the group looked at the full sets of video, they felt that a daily moment of distilled Hope, Peace, Love and Joy is just what we need and reflects the gratitude we feel at Advent.”
