Good Friday Reflection, The Rev. Kristin Kaulbach Miles "Saying Yes"

April 7, 2023

“The thing is to love life even when…you think, ‘How can a body withstand this?’” Quoting the poet Ellen Bass to begin her Good Friday reflection, the Rev. Kristin Kaulbach Miles speaks of how Jesus’ friends and disciples pulled together even after the horror of his public and agonizing execution --- the beloved disciple caring for Mary, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus working together to provide a proper burial. Mother Kristin reminds us how that ancient community created a place where Jesus’ wisdom and practice could be found, and how that still remains the task of Jesus’ followers today. Watch the reflection. The readings are Isaiah 52:13-53:12, Psalm 22, Hebrews 10: 16-25, and John 18: 1-19:42.
