Family Service Sermon, The Rev. Yein Kim, "What's in a Name?"

Emmanuel. Prince of Peace. Good Shepherd. Messiah. Lamb of God. Jesus has hundreds of titles and names and today we celebrate not only New Year’s Day but also the feast of The Holy Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Jesus is the name that is above every name,” preaches Mother Yein Kim. “In Hebrew thought, a name signifies the essence of someone. What you are called is who you really are.” The day's readings are Numbers 6:22–27; Psalm 8; Galatians 4:4–7 and Luke 2:15–21.
