“Jesus isn’t the ruler of stuff. Jesus is the ruler of hearts.” Preaching at our Family Worship service on Christ the King Sunday, the Rev. Michael A. Bird takes us through the origin of this feast day after World War One and explains why it is perfectly timed for Thanksgiving week. Father Michael reflects on how we extend Christ’s Kingdom of love by reaching out to friends and strangers alike not with a fist, but “with a hand in friendship and kindness.” The reading is John 18:33–37.
