Family Service Sermon, The Rev. Matthew A. Welsch: "Who Gets to Be Blessed?"

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."

The Sermon on the Mount is “one of the most important pieces of Jesus’s teachings” preaches Father Matt to our youngest parishioners today. In fact it’s so important we’re splitting it up to discuss over three Sundays! However, the message of The Beatitudes is actually pretty simple. Watch his family-friendly reflection here. The readings are Micah 6:1–8; Psalm 15; 1 Corinthians 1:18–31; and Matthew 5:1–12.
