9am Service Sermon, The Rev. Michael A. Bird: "Jesus Wept."

Today we encounter the shortest verse of scripture in the entire Bible: “Jesus wept.” Despite its length, the good news in this lesson is hefty. “Just two words speak volumes,” preaches the Rev. Michael Bird to our youngest parishioners, “around not only the importance of feelings but how deeply God feels for us.” When Jesus hears about the death of his friend Lazarus, his emotional response is a reminder “that there is no moment so sad or thing that we feel that Jesus does not understand.” The Gospel reading is John 11:1–45.
