Although Lower Manhattan may not seem like a community where people are in need, it is; and the pandemic has further exacerbated economic inequalities. With sharp rises in the unemployment rate, the cost of groceries, and the number of people seeking assistance from food pantries and soup kitchens, food insecurity is at an all-time high in New York City.
Trinity remains committed to helping our neighbors in need through programs, such as Resource Connections, Brown Bag Lunch, and the Compassion Market. Through our grantmaking, Trinity also supports community partners who are addressing the roots of poverty—a primary reason people need assistance in the first place.
Featured Event
One in five people in NYC is food insecure. While the pandemic has highlighted inequality in our society, it has also brought forth shining examples of the helpers. Come together as a community on Thursday, April 22, at 6pm EDT to gain a greater understanding of how we all can contribute to the full circle of efforts combatting hunger and food insecurity in our neighborhood.

Brown Bag Lunch Ministry
Everyday from 9am-5pm | Trinity Church (Broadway at Wall Street)
Although Lower Manhattan may not seem like a community where people are in need, it is. Since 2009, Trinity has served New Yorkers free, nutritional meals through its grab-and-go Brown Bag Lunch program. Before the pandemic, the program was offered midday at St. Paul’s Chapel, seven days a week. Today it’s offered throughout the day, seven days a week, to drop-in guests at Trinity Church (Broadway at Wall Street).
Trinity Wall Street is committed to the Brown Bag Lunch Ministry to help transform our community, our neighbors, and ourselves.
